An Insurance Appraisal is a formal document which lists and describes in detail each item of fine jewelry providing a Retail Replacement Value at the time of the Appraisal for Insurance purposes.  Values are intended to replace the item if lost, stolen or damaged.  This document is necessary for anyone looking to insure their jewelry and fine valuables.  Insurance Appraisals are not intended to show proof of purchase, proof of value or a guarantee of discounted sale price of an item.  

ESTATE VALUATIONS

An Estate Valuation is a formal document which lists and describes in detail each item of fine jewelry providing a formal description and value at the time of the Valuation.  This type of document is intended for use in the distribution of assets for Estate Planning, Estate Distribution, and the Distribution of Assets due to Death, Divorce or Inheritance. 

LIQUIDATION APPRAISAL

An Liquidation Appraisal is a formal document which lists and describes in detail each item of fine jewelry providing a formal description and liquidation value at the time of the Appraisal. Liquidation values are based on secondary market values if applicable or the liquidation of items based on the value of its parts. This type of document is intended for use in the distribution of assets after Liquidation for Estate Planning, Estate Distribution, and the Distribution of Assets due to Death, Divorce or Inheritance.

Every five to seven years.  Have a frank discussion with your Insurance Agent.  They may require you to update your Insurance Appraisals on a  more regular basis.  The retail replacement values of your items may change over the years based on the marketplace.
